Why bondcar.com?

Most of the cruising home pages we've visited seem to use their vessel name as part or all of their internet domain name.  Since "bondcar" clearly has nothing to do with our boat, some explanation seems appropriate:

Long, long ago, in a far off land called Corporate America, there lived a young man called Graham who spoke with an English accent and had a seemingly never ending supply of gadgets and computer tricks.  Most of his colleagues thought this a little unusual, yet strangely reminiscent of a certain well known fictional secret agent.  Naturally it didn't take long until most people simply referred to him as 007...

A year or so later, fortune smiled on the young man, and the small startup company he worked for was among the many acquired by Cisco Systems, Inc.  With his new found wealth, it only seemed appropriate for 007 to drive transportation worthy of his namesake, and the State of Virginia happily supplied the tags.  BOND CAR was born.

Ironically, this picture was taken while the car was on the dealer's lot just after we sold her in the the weeks leading up to our cruising adventure.  We transferred the tags to our Ford Explorer which is being looked after by a friend. For now at least, the bondcar name lives on.
